Today has been awesome because I went in to school and managed to get all sorted for Monday. It is going to be a great night because Mara and me are catching up with some awesome mates, and that will be fantastic.
The goal for tomorrow is to remember all the words, I am on the worship team tomorrow! I am also aiming to get my room all tidy at the flat and thats pretty much it!
Today I am reading in Luke 9 and I am going to read 3 finance verses too – this is in future tense because I am going to do it a little later, but never fear, it will be done! Today!
Something I learnt today was Einstein declined the presidency of the state of Israel when it was offered to him in 1952 by state leaders. Well dontcha know! Who would have thought.
I am looking forward to hanging out with Mara and good mates tonight, and catching up with my lifegroup boys tomorrow, and my class, and other teachers on Monday! Primo
Right now I am listening to the traffic and the wind. The rain has stopped. Heres hoping the rain has gone before Monday! Wet lunch times and kids = hypo hypo hypo
Today was awesome for many reasons! At about midnight, Si and me walked to Macca’s and had a feed – gotta love midnight treats. So that started off the day well. Then throw in potentially my last sleep in for a while and I was off to a good start. I got some good deals in town on some school stuff and some gloves so I can bike to school without my hands falling off in the cold. I got to have a sauna and spa – and try out the hot water in the lake, it was pretty darn hot!
Tomorrow I aim to give Mara a huge hug because I get to see her! Yussss.
Today I read some more verses about finances (they are below), and Luke 7 – the end of it, and Luke 8.
Proverbs 13:11
Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, but the one who gathers by labor increases it. Don’t make money through fraudulent activity – it wont last. AND its not right.
Proverbs 16:8
Better is a little with righteousness than great income with injustice. Its better to be poor and have righteousness, than be poor but do so through injustice. Its just money folks.
Proverbs 22:16
He who oppresses the poor to make more for himself or who gives to the rich, will only come to poverty. Help the poor, give them money. Good times!
Today I learnt that sometimes you can eat McD’s and not put on heaps of wait. Sometimes baahahahahaha.
I am looking forward to Burger Fuel for dinner…oh so gooooood, and seeing Mara tomorrow, and getting everything organised for school on Saturday, and I am looking forward to school on Monday, it will be good to see the kids again.
Right now, I am listening to a podcast by Andy Stanley about being a Christian in the workplace. It’s good stuff.
Today was awesome because it was stella weather here in Taupo, nice and sunny, and not freeeeeeezing like yesterday! I went for a big walk and two bike rides and did some shopping – well, one sweatshirt
My aim for tomorrow is to enjoy the last day here in Taupo – to do some exercise, and to chillax! No school work!
Today I read 3 more verses about finance, and some of Luke chapter 7. The verses on finance stuff were:
Luke 14:28-30 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it; lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all those seeing begin to mock him, saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish. Ow that would be shame. Saving is important! Thats why I have a savings account. Boom.
Leviticus 19:13 You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired man are not to remain with you all night until morning. If you have hired someone to do something, pay them. Makes sense to me.
Psalm 112:5 It is well with the man who deals generously and lends, who conducts his affairs with justice. Be generous yo, my brother gave me 30 cents today when I needed it. Maybe he read this verse?
Today I learnt that mozzarella cheese can come from a buffulo. ALSO, that some pieces of clothing I am now a large. I used to be a XXXL lol. Heck.
I am looking forward to having a swim in the lake tomorrow. When we have gone biking we saw this part where hot water from thermal underground stuff flows into the lake and it makes the water warm. Might dig me a bath! I am looking forward to a sauna and a spa later tonight. I am looking forward to heading back to Hamilton on Friday and being back in my flat, and seeing Mara. Lots to look forward to!
Right now I am listening to You are the best thing, by Ray LaMontagne. Its a great song
1. Today was awesome because I had an awesome sleep in, we went into town and I got a DIARY! Big news, because now I can be really organised, and because I am enjoying the holidays and being in chill mode.
2. The aim for tomorrow is to do a bit more exercise than today – a swim in the morning, a bike if it isn’t too cold, a walk and some squash. I am having noodle box tonight! YAY YAH! So I might need to work that off tomorrow.
3. I am aiming to read my way through 250 bible verses on based around money and finances. As well as educating myself on finances through books/podcasts, I thought it would be good to see what God thinks about money. To get through all the verses in 3 months, it means 3 per day. Todays verses were around budgeting:
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, sluggard; consider her ways and be wise; who having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provides her food in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest. Good ant, you have learnt how to save.
Proverbs 24:3-4
Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms shall be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. So, wisdom and knowledge are important. Boom.
Proverbs 27:12
A prudent man sees evil and hides himself, the naive proceed and pay the penalty. Even with finances, good to stay away from evil. Smart guy that God is.
4. Something I learnt today is that going for a bike ride in shorts and a t-shirt in Taupo when Mount Ruapehu has snow on it is a very, very silly idea. I was nearly turned into an icicle. Heck.
5. I am looking forward to NOODLE BOX! I am also looking forward to Money Man, this programme on TV3 where a army guy tells people how to look after their money better. I am excited about that because I am trying to work on my money skills at the moment. I am also looking forward to seeing Mara, 3 days away! More like 2 cos its nearly finished being Tuesday. Lastly, I am also looking forward to PAY DAY tomorrow. Yay yah.
6. I am listening to a band called OpenSouls, which is a New Zealand Jazz/Funk kinda band from New Zealand. I am bopping along nicely to it. Its nice nice niceeee. They don’t really need to say the F word though, its jazz, not try hard hip hop thug music.
Off to get Noodle Box (by the way, its always number 9, teriyaki chicken…ooooooo yeah).
1. Today was awesome because I had a mean bike ride, and pretty much finished everything I needed to do school wise! Yay yah! I also had a sauna and a spa and they were priiiiimo.
2. My aim for tomorrow is to chill out in the awesomeness that is Taupo! A bike ride, some squash, a sauna, and a spa! I am also going to buy a diary! Exciting! I am going to get organised and know when things are happening. Love it!
3. Today I finished Luke 5. It contains the bit where some people hopped on a roof and dug a hole and lowered someone into it so Jesus could heal the man. Pretty courageous mates.
4. Today I learnt how to make a garageband song. I know, for a tech savy guy I am behind the times. Haha. Its gonna be epic in class. I will fill you in later!
5. Tomorrow I am looking forward to all the things I am aiming to do. I am also looking forward to seeing Mara on Friday, and going to school next Monday – I am a geek, but at least I love my job. Not everyone can say that.
6. I am listening to the end of Mitre Ten Dream Home – and the yellow house one, I liked both of them, and yellow plus blue = green, which is the better colour anyway!
1. Today was awesome because Mara was here, and I had a good time with the whanau! We went for an awesome bike ride on beach cruises (except for Mara’s random bike heh heh). It was choice. Apart from that I chilled and not much else!
2. Tomorrow my goal is to do some school work, go for a bike ride, play some squash, read some of a book Mara and me are reading, and chillax! Oh the goodness of holidays!
3. Today I read Luke 5, the start of it, about Jesus calling the first of the disciples. He also helped them to catch heaps of fish. Thanks Jesus! Hope it wasn’t Tuna or I would have thrown it back.
4. Today I learnt that if you don’t stretch before squash, your muscles can get quite sore. Lesson learnt.
5. I am looking forward to seeing Mara again! On Friday! And I am looking forward to the bike ride tomorrow.
6. Right now I am listening to the sound of me typing because there is no other noise, Si just turned off the tv.
1. Today was awesome because Mara came down to Taupo! Yus! I love my wahine. Her family came to visit, and meet my mum and brother and everyone got on well which was awesome.
2. My goal for tomorrow is to do a decent amount of exercise. I am aiming to go for a big bike ride and a couple of walks, and to play some squash.
3. Today I finished Luke 4 in my bible reading – Jesus went and cast out a demon from a man, and healed Simon’s mum, and healed heaps of other people. They were a bit nicer to him after that, and wanted him to stay, but Jesus said he had to go and preach to others also.
4. Today I learnt that powerlifters can lift a big amount. We went back to the World Powerlifting champs and I saw a man get a world record for lifting 273 kilograms. That is just nuts. Well done man from USA. I will call you Humphrey.
5. I am looking forward to the spa that I am about to have, and chilling tomorrow reading books and watching movies, and I am looking forward to the Chiefs playing at 1am tomorrow morning. Go the chiefs!
6. Right now I am listening to the Reds versus the Lions (Super 14 rugby) – its not a very important match so I am listening but not really watching.
This is an awesome video, I am sure most people who have the internet or a tv would have heard about it by now, but just in case, check this out.
Its a lady on Britain’s got Talent. Her episode was shown on the 11th of April in Britain. Since then, over 11 million people have watched the clip below, plus its on youtube on other places. It is being shown in USA, NZ, – heaps of other countries.
People like an underdog eh! Heart warming stuff! From reading a lot of the comments, people are really liking how someone so unlikely (physically) could do so well!
I found another video with the Good Morning show in America interviewing her, and she sings by herself. Click here for it.
Here are the questions:
1. Today was awesome because we came down to Taupo. I am here for a week of rest and good times with the whanau. I went to the World Masters Powerlifting champs in the afternoon to see my uncle, and he came 4th in the world in his age and weigt division. That was pretty nifty. Well done Uncle Bruce.
2. The aim for tomorrow is to have a sleep in and have a great day with Mara’s family.
3. Today I read the next part of Luke Chapter 4, which is about when Jesus went back to his home town, after being tempted. It wasn’t the best trip for Jesus, they just thought of him as the carpenters son, and when Jesus challenged them, they tried to throw him off a cliff. Heck.
4. I learnt that squash is a fun sport to play.
5. I am looking forward to seeing Mara!
6. Right now I am listening to the news in the background.
So I decided that I should revamp my blog by beginning again. Good times.
A bit of a new system to start it off – 5 questions per post, plus anything random I wanna share.
Here are the questions:
1. What made today awesome?
2. What is a goal/aim for tomorrow?
3. Where/what did I read in the bible today?
4. What is something interesting I learnt today?
5. What am I looking forward to?
6. What am I listening to right now?
So… here goes for Thursday April 16 – which happens to be my brothers birthday.
1. Today was awesome because Mara and me drove from Auckland (we were hanging with great mates Miriam and Aaron) to Tauranga to see my mum and brother. We went out for tea to a nice restaurant and it was mmmmmm yum yum. I got chicken, I always get chicken at restaurants, pretty much anyway. Today was also awesome because mum turned her spa pool on, and I think spas are one of the most awesome things ever invented.
2. Tomorrow my aim is to squash into a busy day some exercise, and to get back on the healthy-food-all-day buzz. I am going to Taupo tomorow to stay in a time share for a week with Mum and my bro, its going to be AMAZING! I am looking forward to it soo much, but I need to make sure that I exercise since I wont be at home with the cross trainer, or near a gym.
3. Tonight I read Luke Chapter 4, the first section of it. IT was about Jesus being tempted. I like knowing that Jesus was tempted, but didn’t give in to it. That section of the bible also demonstrates why a good bible knowledge is important, because when Satan tempted Jesus, Jesus was able to back up what he was saying with verses. Boom. Go Jesus!
4. Something interesting I learned today is that New Zealand is responsible for 0.2% of gas emmissions (the bad ones that everyone is trying to get smaller). That is pretty much a tiny percentage, but the lady on Newstalk ZB said, even so, NZ should be role modelling the way in terms of trying to reduce it.
5. I am looking forward to Taupo, and chilling for the week. I have managed to get most school work done so I can just chill out, read a book, watch some dvds and listen to HEAPS of podcasts (and exercise). I wlll share on here some of the interesting things I have learned.
6. I am listening to Shortland Street in the background from www.tvnzondemand.co.nz. This is the best website ever, because you can watch most TV1 and 2 programmes whenever you want.
